By a Concerned Gambian

It’s incredible! Truth be told, all genuine Gambians are slaves of their conscience! It is torturous to live a life of a slave in one's own country, and I'm tired of being one but for my family (isn't it cowardly and selfish to think like this; but who would be a martyr's family's keeper when one sacrifices for a whole nation in fetters? These are the troubling questions in this nation of slaves and hypocrites!

President Jammeh has big buffoons who because of their sub-human characteristics go at any length including taking lives, even their own, just to please their boss who is now the god of the Gambia worshiped daily in our mosques. This is the hypocrisy I'm talking about; our imams have turned their backs on God and Prophet Mohammad (pbuh) and are now busy worshiping and praising the president. My heart aches by the day listening to these cowardly imams. What a shame!

I'm sure we are all aware of the current spate of arrests aimed at stifling dissent, not comments on that; nonetheless, I would like to share a high profile drug scandal which is indicates that our security chiefs have all turned out to be self serving stooges.

This is a story which the local papers are not commenting on for fear of reprisals from these security chiefs including the head of the drug enforcement agency, IGP Jesus and CDS Tamba. These rackets backed by their accomplice interior minister Sonko are doing everything to make sure the story is buried for good.

The case is about a lower racket of accomplice within the drug squad who has teamed up with Mafioso from Guinea (drug barons) to dupe people. These Guineans, the story goes, dangerously mix cocaine with urea fertilizer and sell it to unsuspecting buyers. The buyers are lured to buying while the lower stooges would be under cover waiting to pounce on them. After a deal is reached, and upon payment, the under cover agents would appears as if raiding the place, seize both money and drug and force the culprits into negotiating for their release by paying large ransoms.

Unfortunately, these cheats are caught by true and genuine NIA who are now investigating the matter. However, the most truthful and feared NIA in the matter, has been withdrawn from the team of investigators by the machinations of the CDS who fears cues linking him and his co-accomplice in the matter. Why is the story not talked about?.
