I join the multitudes of well wishers to welcome the newly formed Gambia Moral Congress Party and her Chairman Hon. Mai Fatty. Their arrival on the scene of Gambia's political conversation further expands our considerations and bodes well if only for democracy's sakes. Political parties form to afford a disenfranchised sector of the nation an avenue to vent and to contribute to national development in a way they perceive absent prior.

I encourage all Gambians to welcome the new party even as existing political parties may agonize over existential concerns.

I congratulate Hon. Mai Fatty and the leadership for his vision and foresight and as he shared in his maiden speech on The Gambia Echo newspaper, the Congress Party will be a complement to the panoply of ideas for Gambia's sustenance. I am comforted in the value of cumulative efforts trained on sobriety. I encourage all existing political parties to welcome their new member and accord the Congress Party her due constitutional regard.
