FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Revolution announced today that three players – forward Kheli Dube, midfielder Kenny Mansally and midfielder Sainey Nyassi – have been re-signed to contracts with Major League Soccer to play for the Revs. Per MLS and team policies, no further details were released. Additionally, midfielder Mauricio Castro has been suspended and fined by the MLS Disciplinary Committee, and midfielder Michael Videira underwent successful hernia repair surgery.
Dube, 26, has made 47 appearances and 33 starts while scoring 12 goals and adding four assists in his two-year career with the Revolution. Dube was drafted in the first round (eighth overall) in the 2008 Supplemental Draft out of Coastal Carolina. He was one of three finalists for the 2008 MLS rookie of the year award, while co-leading the Revolution in goals in 2009.
Mansally, 20, has made 43 appearances and 30 starts with the Revolution since signing with the team as a youth international from Gambia in Sept. 2006. Mansally has scored four goals and added three assists, all coming in the last two seasons.

Nyassi, 20, has scored four goals and added two assists in 54 career appearances with the Revolution. He has made 40 starts while winning MLS goal of the week honors twice in his career.
All three players have started all four of the Revolution’s playoff matches played during the last two years.
“We’re glad that MLS has been able to resign Kheli, Kenny and Sainey,” Revolution Vice President of Player Personnel Michael Burns said. “All three have been solid performers for us the last two years, and we are pleased that they will continue their playing careers with the Revolution.”
Midfielder Mauricio Castro has been suspended two games and fined by MLS’ Disciplinary Committee for an incident that occurred on Nov. 7 against the Chicago Fire.
Castro, 28, was suspended and fined after striking a ball that was in play into the stands in the second half of game two of the Revolution’s Eastern Conference Semifinal Series against the Chicago Fire at Toyota Park. Castro will be forced to miss the first two games of the 2010 season and was fined $1,000.
Finally, midfielder Michael Videira underwent successful left hernia repair surgery on Monday, Dec. 7. The procedure was performed by Dr. David Berger at Massachusetts General Hospital. Videira’s anticipated rehabilitation period is 6-8 weeks, and he is expected to be fit once preseason training begins later this winter.
The 2010 MLS SuperDraft is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 14, in Philadelphia. The Revolution is scheduled to open the 2010 season on the road against the LA Galaxy on Saturday, March 27 at The Home Depot Center in Carson, Calif.
